Glossary of catalog abbreviations used with Jaftech products
Light Emitting Diode. Specifies the fixture is LED type. Some fixture do not include this in the part number. For example FLJ series fixtures are LED however do not include LED in the part number.
Down light and up ight configuration. This is for pull switch type fixtures that contain several different on off configurations. The wattage can be shown in replacement of the H and L specifically for fixtures with 2 types of lamps or different wattages.
Fixture Globe. The prefix on our fluorescent globe fixture line.
Wattage. Various different wattage configurations can be added depending on the lamp type.
Number of lamps. Inside our fixtures we show the number of lamps show here highlighted. F904-632-6UHO-HB. Some fixtures only come with specific quantity of lamps.
Series F900. The prefix our of catalog coding is the series of fixture or kit. F904-632-6UHO-HB. The 4 is the length of the fixture. It can be in all different lengths by replacing the 4 with 8. Some other fixture lines have different lengths. For example, the vanity series is in inches.
Fixture. This is included with almost all fixtures. Except for a few LED fixtures. It's to distinguish between our retrofit kit line and our fixture line of products.
Electronic Ballast. This was added to some fixtures that needed to be differentiated between fixtures that include electronic ballasts and those that do not.
Ballast Brand Code. This is an internal abbreviation but listed on some fixtures with speciality ballasts.
IS = Instant Retart Electronic Ballast
RS = Rapid Start Electronic Ballast
HO = High Output Electronic Ballast
LP = Low Power Electronic Ballast
U = 120/277
1 = 120 Dedicated
3 = 347
4 = 480
FW104 is our water tight series.
Direct Indirect. We added this to one of our recessed fixture as we changed the way the light was being directed. With a white or silver painted aluminum baffle this fixture is stylish and elegant looking for any recessed 2x2 or 2x4 T-bar ceiling. To order this fixture search for FL2x2 or FL2x4 and make sure -DI is trailing at the very end.
Industrial fixture. For our F500 series we have two types strip and industrial styles. We added IN to the code to differentiate the two. If you require a strip fixture then replace the IN with ST.
Strip fixture. For our F500 series we have two types strip and industrial styles. We added ST to the code to differentiate the two. If you require a industrial fixture then replace the ST with IN.
Lowbay. We added this feature as some fixtures that weren't quite bright enough to be highbays but excel at heights of 10-14 ft. If you see -LB then this fixture is designed to fix in these applications. The FLJ600 is a lowbay.
HB was added to some series to differentiate between non highbay fixtures. If you see -HB on your fixture code then it's a highbay fixture design and ment to be mounted at high ceiling heights approximately 15+ feet. Highbay series are FB900, F900 and F600. We also have a line of LED highbays; FLJ900 and FLJ600 series
We sell various types of kelvin LED lamps with our fixtures. To designate the kelvin temperature you would like use -35, -40, -45 or -50. Typically, 5000k is for warehouse and manufacturing areas. 4000 and 3000k is a warmer appearing and are ideal for offices and residential areas.
To add this adder use -GFCI. This is a 2 plug ground fault circuit interupter. It's there to protect people from electrical shock, so it is completely different from a fuse. This is a great adder for our hospital, and vanity fixtures used in washrooms.
Pull Switch. Use -PSW for ordering this adder. Only offered on certain fixtures. Typical uses are washrooms, hospitals, residental and workshops. For our vanity series we offer a single, double and tripple pull switch for 1-3 different light combinations. A very popular series was our guardian hospital bed fixture.
Power coated. This included in our part numbers with certain fixtures such as F700 and F300. It's the type of white finish on our fixtures.
Aluminum silver reflector. Part of the kit series. Use -ALU order this adder with your product. This added can be very helpful in certain situations. In a low dust environment or concealed fixtures, this reflector can add additional efficiency to a fluorescent fixture. Reflectors are not required with LED fixtures as it's already directional. By using a reflector it's possible to direct light even more so then a white reflector. Typical uses for a reflector would be a aisle where light needs to be pushed down further instead like a spot light and instead of a bell shape. Stick to a white reflector when using in a large room and in areas where dust accumulates, as white maintains a better efficiency while dusty.
Silver Reflector. Use -M for ordering this adder to your fixture. This added can be very helpful in certain situations. Sensor Switch. This adder can be added to any fixture. The amount of energy savings in certain applications can turn a particular non sensor job into one of the best energy savings areas in a business. Various distances, timers, quantities, fixture count(per sensor) and sensitivities can be tweeked on these adders to acommidate many areas. On top of this all, some areas with enough sunlight can be set to allow these sensors to use daylight harvesting, another incredible way to save energy. To add this feature use -SS on any fixture to include one of these.

Clear lens above left or pattern lens above right. Clear is the default, but you can specify pattern when ordering. Use -C to order a lens with your fixture. In some cases a lens is required with a fixture and is not listed in the part code. For example a F700 and F300 come default with a lens and does not show -C in the code. The lens is only available as an adder with the following: F900 and F600.
